In addition to key governance body like the University Council, a number of principal officers are central to the governance system in the University. The University of Cape Coast proud itself with Noble men as the administrative team who support and assist the university in meeting the overall objectives of the University and the needs of staff and students. The leadership of the university over the years worked so hard which has helped the university gain admiration of people from all over the world.

University Council >

The University Council is the executive body of the university's governance system. It has overall responsibility for the administration of the University and the management of its resources. The Council superintends relations between the University and outside bodies on matters. The Council in carrying out its duties is responsible for the appointment or nomination of certain members of various committees.

Office of the Vice-Chancellor >

The Vice-Chancellor is appointed by the University Council and is the principal academic and administrative officer of the University. The Vice Chancellor represents the University nationally and internationally as well as providing academic leadership. Major decisions that affect the running of the University are taken by the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of the Governing Council of the University. The majority of correspondence to the University and from all the University are received by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The office coordinates activities of all the other offices that are directly under the Vice-Chancellor.

The university of cape coast can boast of twelve (12) directorates that perform functions to support the university. The administrative and support functions of the University are grouped into the following Directorates; Academic Planning & Quality Assurance, Finance, Information & Communication Technology Services, Internal Audit, Procurement, Physical Development & Estate Management, Research, Innovation & Consultancy and University Health Services
